How about leaving a Déroulé under the Christmas tree?

I Know What You’re Thinking: “Again?!”Yes, barely a month after version 5.1, we’re bringing you 5.2 fresh out of the box. These past three releases have focused on a particular enhancement of the Déroulé feature. Finally mature, it’s ready to stand on its own within your company or community, enabling you to share, duplicate, and deliver entire training sessions or activities, all ready to use.

Unwrap these latest updates and why not use them to gift a Déroulé for Christmas? (You’ll find some ideas at the end of this article!)

What’s on the Menu?

Facilitating activity sharing and animation: the Déroulé at a glance

We’ve added a descriptive sheet to the Déroulé feature, allowing you to quickly grasp the activity you’ve been shared or better communicate a Déroulé you’ve designed.

You’ll find general information on

  • the objective of the course
  • A description of the event
  • the minimum and maximum number of participants
  • total estimated duration

And the parameters of each stage detailed in table form:

  • estimated duration
  • the name
  • notes to the presenter
  • the chosen moderation mode and participant rights
  • content added
  • associated announcements, polls and timers

This descriptive sheet is automatically created and can be accessed anytime, whether before or during the activity. It draws from the general information you input while defining the Déroulé and generates a table based on your parameters.

This enhancement complements features introduced in version 5.1, including:

  • Import/export of a Déroulé
  • Associating announcements and polls with specific steps
  • Adding personal layouts using the layout generator

Together, these improvements enable you to create customised Déroulés, combining your content with animation tools and all the essential details to understand and execute them. Much like Notion, Canva, or Genially templates, this feature lets freelancers offer or sell training sessions or showcase their services. Similarly, companies or training organisations can provide complete activities or courses as resources, streamlining trainers’ work, harmonising their catalogues, and fostering active teaching methods.

Effectively summarising a session: collaborative notes fusion

Whenever you complete a Déroulé, a summary is automatically created. Accessible from the Déroulé tab in the blue briefcase or your dashboard via the three vertical dots next to the space name. This summary allows you to view the duration of your session, export attendance times, download projected content. A new “Notes Tool” feature lets you: Merge collaborative notes, edit and comment on notes, create multiple written summaries tailored to your audience (participants, co-facilitators, or yourself).

This update also includes a history of poll results, ensuring nothing is lost—even if results aren’t shared during the session.

Faster role and access management: assigning facilitators from the “Invite” button

Previously, roles were assigned via the “Participants” tab. Now, you can assign facilitators and administrators directly from the “Invite” button. Adjust roles before or during sessions, and notify new facilitators instantly via email.

Need time to prepare? Place participants in a waiting room (but not for too long!).

From the same window, you can limit access by unchecking the “Public Access” option and adding participant emails to the “Permanent Access” list. If someone not on this list tries to join, they’ll be directed to a page where they can knock. You can then choose whether to let them in.

Check your setup before entering: audio and video verification

On Glowbl, the bubbles are big enough to see smiles but discreet enough not to prompt constant mirror checks. However, discovering a messy room or a bad hair day simultaneously with other participants can be stressful.

That’s why we’ve aligned with other videoconferencing tools: before entering a space, you can configure your audio and video equipment. We hope this update will make it easier to manage your settings and encourage participants to keep their microphones and cameras on.

Getting to know each other: displaying speaker names

In addition to being displayed when hovering over a bubble or in the Participants tab, the speaker’s name now appears when they speak. This makes it easier to remember names, fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging participants to express themselves freely.

Sharing videos: Youtube shorts at tables

Did you know you can paste a YouTube video URL to project it ad-free in a table? The projection syncs so all participants watch simultaneously. Once shared, the video remains in the table’s library and can resume from where it was paused.

With version 5.2, this functionality extends to YouTube Shorts—brief, impactful portrait-format videos perfect for sharing tips or insights with participants.

Onboarding participants: new resources available

Let’s face it: Glowbl isn’t globally used—yet! 😊 As a result, participants may discover the platform for the first time during your session. To reassure them, you can share this short video tutorial or provide a downloadable PDF for reference at the start of your session.

Urgent notifications: direct alerts in the bell icon

We’ll now notify you of critical updates, such as maintenance periods, through alerts visible on the bell icon in your spaces. This will help you reorganise your sessions as needed.

Version 5.2 introduces new ways to facilitate, share, and create together. Now, it’s your turn to add your flair! 🎄

For inspiration, I asked friends what workshops they’d love to attend, and their responses ranged from surprising to delightful:

  • Identifying your intelligence type (kinesthetic, visual, mathematical…)
  • Using a compass
  • Managing stress in three key steps
  • Creative shoelace techniques
  • Writing an impactful LinkedIn post
  • Exploring your DISC profile in 30 minutes
  • Telling a captivating short story
  • Perfecting egg cooking, once and for all

And, for the holiday season:

  • Surviving Christmas with your in-laws

If this inspires you to create your own Déroulé on Glowbl, share it with us at am.bertin@glowbl.fr.

The entire team wishes you a joyful holiday season and an inspiring end to the year!
